Today was a brilliant day of laughs, creativity and learning. What a way to kick off camp!
The morning was filled with name games and team building exercises. One of my favorites was the dance name game. We all made up a movement for our name and performed it for each other. Then our friends repeated our movement and name back to us one by one in the circle. It was a great way to strech our memory and get to know each other.
In the afternoon we played acting games such as "Animal Tag". In animal tag, we had to pick an animal to mimic and tag someone with our sound. Our tagged friend then had to copy the sound and then make up their own. We had so many colorful creatures; Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! This was a great oppurtunity to practice copying and presenting movement.
At the end of the day we played "Zip Zap Zop". In Zip Zap Zop, we had to pay close attention and make eye contact with the people we were trying to communicate with. We had to stay very attentive and direct with our zipping and zapping and zopping or else we'd miss our cue.
Ask your kid about their characters, animals and games that they played and learned today!
Can't wait for tomorrow,
In Alyse's class, we played listening games that required us to listen closely and react quickly! We also played improv games to expand our creativity and worked on teaming up with our peers to tell a story.
