ABOUT THE SHOW

Now in its fourth year, local teens (Grades 7-12) interested in boosting their performance abilities and rounding out their repertoire will receive performance coaching with Broadway Musical Director Jonathan Gorst
and Theatre Aspen Director of Education, Graham Northrup, MFA.
Together they will craft a unique take on the teen experience. Students will use tight harmonies, pop vocal stylings and even some hip-hop and dance in solos, duets, and small- and large-group musical numbers to give the audience on an unforgettable evening.

Cabaret-style table and riser seating available. And join us before the show to enjoy "Mocktail" bar service!

AUDITIONS

WHEN: Monday, February 27, from 4:30 to 8:30pm. Callbacks, if needed, will be held Tuesday the 28th from 4-6pm
WHERE: Theatre Aspen Studio, Suite 126 – Red Brick Center for the Arts
WHO: Local Teen Singers (7th -12th grade)*

*Cast size is limited. You are encouraged to prepare well for the audition.

WHAT TO PREPARE

HEADSHOT/RESUME/AUDITION FORM: Please bring a résumé of singing, acting, dance or related experience, and a headshot (need not be professional; a recent close-up snapshot will suffice). Also, please completely fill out the audition form with actor information and all scheduling conflicts during the rehearsal period - this is very important to our rehearsal scheduling process.

SINGING: Please bring in 32 bars (about 1 verse and a chorus) of any pop song you love to sing, and you feel shows off your voice. Rap is also encouraged, but only as part of a piece that is also sung, or as a companion piece to a song. A second audition song is encouraged, but not required. Bring sheet music for accompaniment, or a CD/MP3/YouTube instrumental/karaoke track. Sheet music should be in a 3-ring binder. You might be asked to sing harmonies in a group setting.

ACTING/DANCING: Please list your dance and acting abilities/experience on the form. There will be a dance component to the show, but it will be built around the skills of the participants. There may also be a monologue component to the show. If so, these will be written and performed by the participants.

AUDITION FORMAT

You will be called in individually during your time slot to sing your song(s), and perhaps asked to sing harmony.
